The chimney sweeping granules of natural origin* are used as a curative and preventive treatment for fireplaces, stove inserts and stoves running on wood, coal or pellets. Its formula acts by loosening soot and wood dust in combustion appliances and by drying out flammable tar in chimney flues and liners (including stainless steel). It is the vapours and the catalytic action of the product that cause the reaction needed to destroy tar and soot. Regular use improves combustion and reduces harmful emissions into the atmosphere (CO). Mechanical chimney sweeping remains compulsory, in accordance with the legal provisions in force.
*We use materials that are identical, in structure and function, to substances that can be extracted and purified from natural deposits.
Fireplace / stove insert / wood or coal stove:
- Light the fireplace or the heating appliance and keep a hot fire going for 2 to 3 h
- Reduce the draught, spread out the embers and pour the granules directly onto the embers using the measuring cap, according to the following dosage: 6 measuring caps the first time, then 3 measuring caps every 10 fires
- The smoke given off acts on the deposits for ± 30 minutes
- After the product has burnt, set the draught back to normal mode
- In the event of heavy fouling, double the dose.
Pellet stoves:
- Before using the preparation and in order to obtain a good clean, first run the appliance so that the combustion chamber is up to temperature (± 30 minutes) and then make sure that the pellet compartment is almost empty
- Take a clean bucket and pour in ± 1.5 kg of wood pellets (the ones you use to feed your stove), add the contents of 2 measuring caps and mix everything together properly
- Pour the preparation directly into the pellet compartment of the appliance and let it run for a minimum of 1h30, then feed it again with wood pellets
- To be used once a month during the season.
- A well-maintained flue allows you to use it in complete safety and optimises the calorific output of your installation. After treatment, use your appliance as recommended by the manufacturer.
