The residues contained in pellets can lead to a heavy build-up of soot and tar in the firebox and the flues. To remedy this, Fulgurant has developed a maintenance product specially designed to remove soot, tar and wood dust while protecting your appliance. By preventing blockages in the flues and the formation of deposits in the firebox, this maintenance product ensures an optimal draught.
- Before carrying out the maintenance, make sure the appliance is up to temperature. When the appliance hopper is three quarters empty, pour in the whole contents of the chimney sweeping pellets bag. Then top up with your usual pellets. Leave the stove running for at least 2 to 3 hours, the time needed to burn the contents of the bag.
- When the Fulgurant pellets burn, they release smoke and catalytic substances that attack and break down the residues of soot, tar and wood dust.
- After treatment, you will notice a fine grey powder in the ash drawer, which is the soot and tar residue that has fallen down.
- Regular use of Fulgurant chimney sweeping pellets (every 4 weeks) helps protect your appliance and increase its output.
