The Fulgurant chimney sweeping log contains an active ingredient that loosens and breaks down soot and tar in your stove or your fireplace. It is recommended for chimney sweeping at the start and the end of the heating season or as bimonthly maintenance. The chimney sweeping log thus optimises the calorific output of your heating installation. It is suitable for use in open and closed fireplaces, with masonry or lined flues, including stainless steel lined flues, and for wood stoves.
- Light the fireplace or the heating appliance and keep a hot fire going for about an hour to heat the flue well and obtain a good bed of embers.
- Take the log out of its cardboard sleeve and place it on the embers without removing its paper wrapping.
- Let the log burn slowly. The smoke given off will act on the soot and the glazed deposits to loosen and destroy them.
Once the log has finished burning, you can add more fuel. The action of the Fulgurant log continues during the following fires: the soot is carried away by the draught, the tar hardens, dries out and falls into the firebox a few weeks later.
Frequency of use: use the chimney sweeping log once or twice a year.
