The naturally sourced* chimney sweeping powder is used as a curative and preventive treatment for fireplaces, stove inserts and stoves running on wood or coal. Its formula works by loosening soot and drying out the flammable tars in flues and liners (including stainless steel). It is the vapours and the catalytic action of the product that trigger the reaction needed to destroy tar and soot. Regular use improves combustion and reduces harmful emissions into the atmosphere (CO). Mechanical chimney sweeping remains compulsory, in accordance with the legal provisions in force.
*We use materials that are identical, in structure and function, to substances that can be extracted and purified from natural deposits.
Fireplace / stove insert / wood or coal stove:
- Light the fireplace or the heating appliance and keep a brisk fire going for 2 to 3 H.
- Reduce the draught, spread the embers and pour the powder directly onto the embers using the measuring cap, at the following dosage: 6 measures the first time, then 3 measures every 10 fires
- The fumes released act on the deposits for ± 30 minutes; once the product has burned, return the draught to normal.
- If fouling is heavy, double the dose.
- A well-maintained flue lets you use your installation in complete safety and optimises its heat output. After treatment, use your appliance as recommended by the manufacturer.
